Two BuildEast associations retain G1 and V1 ratings
Two members of Build East (bpha and Eastlight Community Homes) have retained their Governance (G1) and Financial Viability (V1) judgments from the Regulator of Social Housing, following annual stability checks.
G1 V1 is the highest rating a housing association can achieve. It shows that the Regulator is confident in how organisations are run and how they manage their finances.
The result follows bhpa’s credit rating of A+ (stable) being reaffirmed in October 2024 by the rating agency Standard and Poor’s.
Chief Financial Officer, Julian Pearce said: “The ratings demonstrate the strong foundations we have in place to perform resiliently in the face of continuing market pressures. Our financial stability and effective governance allow us to continue to provide and invest in good, sustainable homes and services for local people over the long term.”
Emma Palmer, Chief Executive of Eastlight Community Homes, said:
“Each year, the Regulator of Social Housing reviews our performance, as they do for all housing associations, and updates our regulatory ratings. The housing sector is under significant financial pressure at the moment, so Eastlight retaining these top ratings should reassure our customers that the organisation is making strong, responsible decisions.”
