Essex based housing association delivers over 200 new homes in Rochford

Essex based housing association CHP has delivered 217 new affordable homes at the Hall Road development in Rochford.

163 of these homes will be for affordable rent which will be owned and managed by CHP with Rochford Council nominating customers to live in these properties. 54 of the properties are for shared ownership and range from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses.

CHP has worked in partnership with Bellway Homes across all three phases on the development, which have all now been completed.

The properties are all built to Life Time Homes Standards, which will enable properties to be easily adapted in the future. This will allow customers to stay in their own homes for much longer and keep living independently if they become less mobile. This Standards are based on the following five principles: inclusivity, accessibility, adaptability, sustainability and good value.

Carl Hockey, CHP’s Growth and Partnerships Director said “We are very proud to have delivered such a large number of much-needed affordable homes at the Hall Road development. This contributes to our work to carry on tackling the housing crisis by providing new homes for affordable rent and shared ownership. We were delighted to work with Bellway homes across all three phases of this development.”

Work on this scheme originally started in 2014, with CHP joining on the first phase in December 2015, going on to partner on all three phases of the development. This scheme has delivered 600 new homes in total.
