Community Defib unveiled in Wymondham

A community defibrillator partially funded by a grant from Saffron’s Community Foundation has been officially declared operational. The lifesaving piece of kit has been installed at Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church in Wymondham.

The defibrillator was part funded by Wymondham Town Council and Saffron’s Community Foundation Trust. Community Outreach Project organiser Arnie McConnell worked with Saffron and the town cancel to obtain the device and arrange training to be given to members of the community.

Saffron’s CEO James Francis joined HM Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Lady Dannatt MBE, at the official opening, alongside Wymondham’s Mayor, Councillor Kevin Hurn and Canon Pat Cleary, pictured.

James Francis was delighted our Community Foundation “was able to link with the local community to part-fund this life-saving package”.

Saffron’s Community Foundation Manager, Emilie Hildreth, added: “It was great to see so many different community groups at the opening ceremony, all supporting this wonderful community asset.”
